Judy Ribner is a midwife doctor and the founder of Holistic Midwifery New York, the largest home birth practice in New York City. Judy’s journey into midwifery was sparked by her deep appreciation for the innate power and intuition within the birthing process. Having completed her doctorate and graduating as the NYU Valedictorian, Judy brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her practice. With a focus on preserving the physiologic process of birth, she cherishes helping individuals tap into their own strength and wisdom.
In this episode, Judy and I talk about the different degrees of tearing in childbirth, other injuries that can occur during labor and delivery, how strategic positioning can significantly reduce the risk of injury, whether practices like perineal massage actually work, advice for individuals who have torn in previous births, and so much more!
