My Top 3 Fertility Trackers

As many of you know, I’ve been using the Fertility Awareness Method as a form of birth control for a loooonnng time.  I can’t begin to describe how much this method of birth control has impacted my life and the lives of the women I share it with. I preach about understanding your body’s hormonal landscape through body awareness all the time, and the Fertility Awareness Method is a key tool for women who want to work with their bodies’ natural ebb and flow.

While I love this method of birth control, I also am a big fan of technology. Women’s health tech is chock full of groundbreaking developments right now that are poised to change the industry forever. As such, I’ve experimented with a number of period and fertility trackers over the years, and I want to share these gems with you. Below you’ll find the the THREE fertility and period trackers that I personally use…

The Daysy Fertility Monitor – Your Personal Fertility Tracker.

I’ve got to admit, I was super skeptical about the Daysy before I started using her. I’ve been charting my cycle using my basal body temperature and cervical fluid patterns for about ten years, so relying solely on a teensy device to tell me when I am fertile/not fertile was mildly terrifying!

But I soon discovered that Daysy is the real deal – she’s 99.4% effective and I have no doubt she will turn you into a birth control ninja in a very short period of time.

You can start using your Daysy the first day you receive her. She gives you clear signals, via different colored lights, about whether you are fertile or not fertile.

Yellow – learning phase/caution days
Red – fertile days (meaning you can get pregnant if you unprotected sex)
Green – infertile days (meaning you can’t get pregnant if you unprotected sex)
Purple – menstruation days

I’ve got a special discount for any of you babes who want to get your hands on a Daysy. Click here to purchase your very own Daysy and get an automatic $20 off!

The Ava Fertility Bracelet– The fitbit for your menstrual cycle and fertility.

(Get a special $20 discount by using code HCJARDIM at checkout!)

The Ava bracelet is worn like a watch, at night while you are sleeping where it measures specific physiological parameters when your body is completely at rest. These include:

  • Skin temperature
  • Resting pulse rate
  • Breathing rate
  • Heart rate variability ratio (HRV)
  • Sleep
  • Perfusion
  • Movement
  • Bioimpedance
  • Heat loss

Here are a few things I love about the Ava…

#1 It tells me how much sleep I got, and how much of that sleep was light or REM sleep. I really like this because it’s pushing me to go to bed earlier and make sure my sleeping environment is on point! I’m also paying attention to how my sleep is impacted by the different phases of my cycle, and how much my sleep impacts my hormonal health (it really does ladies! We need our sleep).

#2 The fertility window is unquestionably accurate. Last month it readjusted my fertile window to a day later (May 8th instead of May 7th), based on the data it had been collecting since I began using it on April 15th (which was the middle of my previous cycle). Impressive!

#3 Ava gives you a cycle report once you’ve completed a full cycle. This cycle report shows details such as cycle length, luteal and follicular phase length, period flow, period length, average day of ovulation and the longest and shortest cycles.

If you’re digging the Ava Fertility Bracelet you can get your hands on one right here. And be sure to grab my special $20 discount by using code HCJARDIM at checkout!

The Wink by Kindara – The first oral fertility thermometer built to sync with an app.

The Wink is super easy to use. You wake up, and before doing anything else (like going to the bathroom, checking your phone etc), take your temperature (it literally takes 10 seconds), and then it syncs to the Kindara app on your phone via bluetooth.

Wink is so cool, not only because it takes your basal temperature but it automatically syncs with the Kindara app on your phone so you don’t have to remember to enter your temp. Hello to super accuracy, and goodbye to lost readings and temperature input mistakes. #storyofmylife

I’m a huge fan of the Kindara app, which I’ve been using for many years, so having a thermometer like the Wink that automatically syncs with the Kindara software is the bees knees!

Important to note – the Wink is just a basal thermometer and is not going to tell you your fertile days like the Daysy and Ava. It is an easy to use and accurate thermometer for charting your cycle or practicing the Fertility Awareness Method of birth control. And its $129 price tag will give you a lot of bang for your buck!
