If it sounds like I know exactly what you're going through, it's because I have. I lived with agonizingly painful and irregular periods for most of my teenage years and at 19, my doctor put me on the pill to “solve” these issues. While hormonal birth control helped with the physical symptoms, many other problems including low sex drive and chronic gut problems cropped up throughout the five years I was on it. Basically, I went from having one major hormonal imbalance to having another.

Some women do really well on a vegetarian or vegan diet while others require animal protein to feel their best. It's different for everyone and I respect that in this course.
